We have tried to upload the firmware you sent to us on 2 units no problem on 3 units we have an issue?  All units have been refurbished with the same parts to guarantee our warrantee but we have tried everything to resolve this without success.

Do you happen to know if transact have changed something on the boards within the last years or is there a different cutter that only works with certain types of boards as this is we’re we are seeing the issue.

Otherwise we can send you the 5 foc units and you can try to load yourself the firmware, your call but if you can let me know what you want to do I would appreciate

there are two ways for updating the EPIC 880:

-via USB
-via Serial
Try both ways. Maybe sometimes serial works better.

Try to upload first a older version (PE8801_000_122.cbt) and the upload the Ver. 1.35.
 PE8801_000_122.cbt...
is attached

Please note that with attached firmware, the last one they provided, the printers are working fine. If right after we update the Ver. 1.35, it does not work.

We had a similar issue in the past. Not sure if it is the same on your side.

Here is the description what happened:

*******************

today we updated some printers to new firmware Ver. 1.35.

On 2 of them after updating the cutter does not work.

So after printing the ticket it would not be cutted. See video attached.

On the second video you see the LEDs blinking when this error occurs.

We downgraded the printer to Ver. 1.22 and the cutter works perfectly.

ANSWER FROM TRANSACT:

We think we know what is causing the problem, after a lot of debugging we can re-create this scenario.

We think it might be down to a problem with the transport paper sensors in the 2 units that are not working.  In Version v1.22 these sensors are not used but in v1.35 they are used for better jam detection and prevention.
