1903S Chip firmware writing - Operating instructions

Preparatory work

  •  Connect the computer and the printer with serial cable. Confirm the baud rate (default 115200), COM port (using the serial port actually connected to the printer and the computer) can be viewed in the device manager, as shown below:

② After connecting the serial cable and configuring the baud rate, power off the printer

  • Font writing 

According to the path of the file to find the tool MHTool.exe, as shown in the figure:

Open MHTool.exe and process step from 1-6 when the printer is powered off:

1, 2, choose the correct COM port and baud rate;

3. Click Firmware. In the window that pops up, select 2021N A font file

4. Change the address to 0x010C0000;

5. Open to Erase All Sectors.

6. Click "Connect"

  1. when the blue progress bar appears at the bottom of the interface, power on the printer immediately, as shown below:

8When the screen displays “Chip MH1903S connected!" it’s indicating that the connection is successful, as shown in the following figure

 

 

9Click Load and wait for the font to be written

10When the interface shows “Chip disconnected!”  it indicates that the font writing is completed, and the printer is powered off after the font writting is completed. As shown below:

 

  • Firmware writing

After font is successfully burned, power off the printer. Do 1-5 operations when the printer is powered off:

1, 2, choose the correct COM port and baud rate;

3. Click Firmware, select FW file (eg: MS-EP802TMP MS3 V02 20170421 D3 230505a APP.hex in the pop-up window, and click to open;

4. Disable Erase All Sectors.

5. Click "Connect", as shown below:


 
6When the blue progress bar appears on the interface, power on the printer, as shown below:

7When the screen displays “Chip MH1903S connected!" it’s indicating that the connection is successful, as shown in the following figure

8Click Load to burn the firmware, as shown below:

 

 

9When the interface shows “Chip disconnected!”  it indicates that the font writing is completed, and the printer is powered off after the font writting is completed. As shown below:

 

 

  • BOOT file writting

After the firmware writing is completed, power off the printer, and do 1-5 operations in the printer power off state:

1, 2, choose the correct COM port and baud rate;

3. Click Firmware, select boot file (eg: MS-EP802 Series BOOT 20211014.hex )in the pop-up window, and click to open;

4. Disable Erase All Sectors.

5. Click "Connect", as shown below:

 

  1. When the blue progress bar appears on the interface, power on the printer, as shown below:

  1. When the screen displays “Chip MH1903S connected!" it’s indicating that the connection is successful, as shown in the following figure

  1. Click Load to write boot file, as shown below:

 

 

  1. When the interface shows “Chip disconnected!”  it indicates that the font writing is completed, and the printer is powered off after the font writting is completed. As shown below:

 

Tip:

After the font, firmware, BOOT file writing has been completed the printer can be tested. If inadvertent operation error happened, then please in accordance with the order start again the writing procedures.
