Can the GEN 5 be connected via USB connection from the main cable harness?

Yes it is possible to do that without the (COM port cable RS232 to USB), But you have to download and use the attached firmware.

“I did some testing using the attached firmware. It is a CDC (Communication Device Class) firmware that connects via USB and comes up like a COM port.

You can connect to a PC using the USB cable on the main communication harness of the GEN5 and run it using the Printer Basic Driver the same as you would with RS232 firmware.”
